Association of International Accountants

The Association of International Accountants (AIA) is one of five statutorily Recognised Qualifying Bodies (RQBs) in the United Kingdom for company auditors under the Companies Act 1989.

Based in the UK, the AIA was founded in 1928 and incorporated in London in 1932, to promote and support the advancement of the accountancy profession both in the UK and internationally. Whilst supporting international accounting and auditing standards the AIA seeks to ensure that its examinations and membership requirements support the development of the accountancy profession in the countries in which it examines. The high standard of the AIA professional qualification is maintained by the independent and external moderation of the examinations.

The AIA has members and students in over 77 countries world-wide and provides a framework for support and guidance to students and members through its international network of branches, seminars, conferences and AIA's Journal 'International Accountant'.
